There is only one thing, if we remember it, that will guide us into knowing who we truly are.
If we realize that everything in this world is a conditioned and programmed system designed to move us into following certain patterns of thought and action, we can understand that we are not what we think our identity is. From babyhood to old age, there are so many ways we follow plans that conditions us to stay on the ‘proper’ paths. Everything is calling out for us to ‘join’ this or that, to believe a certain way and form opinions based on information already established to help us ‘know’ the truth.
To step out of the programs and know what is real seemes at first to be really difficult to do considering the complicity and amount of so called knowledge out there. Where would we even start! Maybe leaving behind all the information in books, tv, news, you tube, research etc. and entering the world of nature itself is the only place to find reality. Think about it. The trees and vegetation, wild animals, rivers, oceans, streams, the weather, sunshine and rain, they are all performing beautifully just as they were created to do for thousands upon thousands of years. They are all part of the perfect cycle of life on earth. No matter what humankind has done to try to control and abuse nature in many different ways, when left alone, it always reverts back to its natural state.
So how does that show us who we really are? It is by making us aware that we also have a natural state. We are an integral part of nature itself. We are part of a world encompassing spiritual evolution happening all around us and within us, moving us gently into a higher state of consciousness. Maybe there’s nothing we have to do or not do, to evolve but just be as we were naturally before civilizations began to control our lives.
Our natural state is to enjoy, honor and care for nature and each other and just be as nature always is; a part of a greater existence of all and sharing the space we exist in. We don’t need all the flotsam and jetsam of civilization to be ourselves. A lot of it actually distracts us from the simple life of just being who we are.
So many complications drag us down to worry, stress and anxiety. Illness, criminality, wars and poverty are all results of conditioned civilization. Maybe to know who we are is to go back to the natural state we were born in and envision ourselves as nature itself, sharing in the evolution with all natural things into what paradise was before established societies took hold. If we shed all the trappings of controlled life, maybe we would become a free, natural being. Imagine what a relief that would be.
Sometimes we get so carried away with our thoughts that we forget we have a body. we need to be grounded again and feel ourselves within this body suit we inhabit for life. This can connect us more to our inner self and help us elevate consciousness to a more loving state.
It’s important to be balanced in all aspects of ourselves. As we gain insight into these different parts of us, we began to feel them personally and honor them for what they are and how they sustain our life. We are physical human beings within a conscious awareness that, as we use our body’s senses, are able to help us understand and react to the physical world. We, as this conscious awareness, can connect with God and become a being with higher, more loving motivations as we let Him guide our everyday life. As we do this, old familiar patterns and programs are released. We lived by these old patterns as they held us bound to negative actions and mesmerized in cycles of no-growth.
If we feel stuck in circumstances and are dis-satisfied and continually encountering difficulties, when we surrender to Him, give up our control and follow His way for us, we will finally be at peace within ourselves and the world around us.
