The Kingdom Within Us ©2022
This is a place to explore what the 'Kingdom of God' means and how we can live within this kingdom which is inside us. Isn't it amazing that something actually inherent within us is so completely unknown by us? This beingness is so real and eternal, yet we live so often in fear and confusion of who and what we are and are capable of.
We desperately need to escape this false idea that dominates our culture of physicality and realize that our unique, beautiful selves have been enslaved into low energy human forms.
Luke 17:20-22 - Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say,‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
There are many translations of the Bible and some I feel are better than others, but instead of endless comparing, I use the King James version. Sometimes I will use various translations if it seems to make it easier to understand but I've never worried so much about proper translations. I've always felt that truth comes from within us and Jesus guides us on this journey to learn the truth.John 15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
The New Testament gives us many things to ponder. I learned the value of the scripture below a long time ago and have been comforted by it in many ways since. John 14:17
"Matthew 6:32-34 - For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
These words by Jesus make me feel accepted and cared for because, as imperfect as I am, I am as a little child to Him that created me. I just can't do it on my own, no matter what. Jesus was always there for the children who ran up to him. He healed them and honored them so much by indicating their obvious entering into the Kingdom. Maybe He spoke warnings to those who weren't living their lives in a good way, but the children were definitely not in that category.
Mark 10:14 - Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them but when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
He also said..
Mark 10:15 - Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
These next words, also by Jesus, puts us on a straight path toward understanding who really takes care of us. It is not the world's way of working hard to buy things we don't need. He admonished His followers to leave behind those ways of wealth and trusting in its allure, and 'Seek the Kingdom of God....thus, all your needs will be met." My feeling is, if we have enough, why do we need more?
Mark 10:24
And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! Mark 10:25 - It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Many people admire the prophet, John the Baptist! What I like about this scripture is the declaration of Jesus that all of us struggling at the beginning of our journey to the Kingdom, (or those of us still struggling later on...) in spite of our failures, mistakes and fears, yet we still endure, and He likens us as greater than John the Baptist...what a relief...He still accepts us and loves us so much! ...And since Jesus is the personification of our Creator God and they are one, we know this is His will also.
Luke 7:28 - For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
Note: I see this as It doesn't take anything away from John the Baptist but it sets us beside him as a brother or sister and together we are all wanting the Kingdom more than anything the world has to offer. John gave his life for it and we may feel inadequate compared to him but Jesus doesn't want us to feel that way.
